Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Queue Cam collects, why, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Queue Cam is run by [Business name], who is responsible for your information.
What we collect from subscribers
- Your email address and password. Used to create and run your account. Your password is stored encrypted, and we can't see it.
- Your subscription status. Whether you're subscribed, when you paid and when your access ends.
- A device code. A random code saved in your browser so that one account works on one device at a time.
We do not collect or store your card details. Payments are handled by Paystack, which has its own privacy policy.
The camera
- The camera points at a public area outside a venue and only shows how long the queue is.
- Photos are taken from a distance at low resolution, so individual people should not be identifiable.
- Each new photo replaces the previous one. We don't keep an archive of old photos.
- Only logged-in subscribers can see the latest photo.
If you think you can be identified in a photo and want it removed, email [Email address] and we will deal with it straight away.
Why we use your information
- To run your account and give you access to Queue Cam.
- To process your subscription and handle cancellations and refunds.
- To email you about your account, payments or important changes. We don't send marketing emails unless you agree to them.
We never sell your information.
Who we share it with
We only share what's needed with the services that run Queue Cam:
- Paystack for payments;
- Supabase for accounts and logins;
- Cloudflare for hosting the website and the photo.
Some of these services store data outside South Africa. They use security measures in line with what POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete it within 30 days, except for payment records we have to keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email [Email address]. If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
The website uses HTTPS, the database is locked so only our server can read it, and passwords are encrypted. No system is perfect, but if a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
